Märkischer Kreis - In a current action for speed monitoring, the authorities set up several measuring points in the northern district of the Märkische Kreis on October 8, 2024. The aim was to check the driving behavior and determine speed violations to increase traffic safety.
The first measuring point was in Menden, Windthorststraße. A radar was used here between 07:05 a.m. and 8:10 a.m. to measure the speed of 175 vehicles. Seven drivers were recorded in the commercial allowance area, but there were no administrative offenses or driving bans. The maximum value was 43 km/h, which is exceeding the permissible speed of 30 km/h within the closed town.

The second measuring point was in Menden-Lendringsen on Bieberkamp, where 170 vehicles were checked between 8:35 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Here, 13 drivers were recorded in the commercial allowance area, while one was prosecuted with an administrative offense. The absolutely highest measured value was 91 km/h, well above the permitted speed of 70 km/h outside of closed towns.
In Iserlohn in the Wiesengrund, the third location was operated from 11:15 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. Out of 151 vehicles, 14 drivers crossed the permissible speed limit, but there was no administrative offenses and driving bans. Here the maximum measured value was 48 km/h, 30 km/h above the permitted speed within the village.
The most extensive surveillance took place on the old Poststrasse in Iserlohn, where work was done with an ESO measuring device from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. During this time, 1,554 vehicles were measured. During this check, 104 drivers were classified in the warning money area, while 22 administrative offenses were manufactured. Two drivers received a driving ban. Here the highest value was terrifying 131 km/h, whereby the permissible speed is only 70 km/h.
The results of this speed measurement illustrate that despite increased controls, many drivers still disregard the traffic rules. The police emphasize the importance of such measures to ensure traffic safety and announces that they will continue to carry out regular speed controls in the future to minimize dangerous traffic situations.
