Drunk resting camp: 2.17 per thousand and no driver's license!

A serious incident occurred on Wednesday morning, October 9, 2024, on Autobahn 3 near Niedernhausen. A car with a Frankfurt license plate collided with a panel van from Poland for reasons that have not yet been clarified. At that moment, both vehicles were on the middle lanes, and the highway was very little driven, which makes the situation particularly unfortunate.

The impact occurred at 04:03 a.m., and both the 35-year-old driver of the car and his passenger suffered minor injuries. They were immediately brought to the surrounding hospitals for treatment. The terrible ending for the car: total damage was found for him. Fortunately, the driver of the panel van was unharmed.

alcohol influence and missing driving license

When the police arrived quickly, it turned out that the driver of the car was under the influence of alcohol. A breath test resulted in a value of 2.17 per thousand, which means that its blood alcohol level was far above the permitted limit. In addition, it was found during the review that the man was not in possession of a valid driver's license. This combination of alcohol and illegal driving makes the situation appear even more terrifying.

After the collision, the car driver was taken to the hospital for blood sampling to secure further evidence of the alcohol content. Both vehicles had to be towed by the police, which also contained the traffic situation.

As part of the accident recording, the right and medium lane of the highway were blocked. This traffic disability fell together with the onset of rush hour traffic, which formed a backlog of around 4 kilometers. An entertaining picture for commuters who were on the way to work, but certainly not for those affected by the accident.

The exact circumstances that led to this accident are still unclear. The investigation continues in order to be able to understand the background better and to ensure that such incidents will be prevented in the future. The situation once again shows how dangerous alcohol can be at the wheel, especially in combination with the absence of a valid driving license. The police have repeatedly warned that such risky decisions not only put the driver's life, but also the lives of other road users.
