Kellen Moore takes over the new head coach of the New Orleans Saints!
New Orleans, USA - Kellen Moore, the former offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, becomes the new head coach of the New Orleans Saints. The team announced this shortly after Moore with the Eagles won the impressive Super Bowl Lix with a 40–22 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs. Moore, who previously played in his career as a backup quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions, is now responsible for the Saints, as the successor to interim coach Darren Rizzi. Rizzi had taken over the scepter from Dennis Allen after dismissal and was able to win three out of eight games in the rest of the season.
The challenge in New Orleans
In his new role, Moore will be the 12th head coach in the history of the franchise. Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis praised him as a "outstanding communicator with a clear vision for the team". For the 36-year-old, this is his first stop as a head coach after working in Dallas as a quarterback coach and then working as an offensive coordinator. He has already managed strong teams with the cowboys and the Chargers, and especially in 2024 his offensive in Philadelphia led to the second most common rushing yards in the league.
The Saints are in a difficult situation. You have not reached the playoffs for four years and are currently about $ 60 million above the Salary Cap. A crucial question will be how to proceed with Quarterback Derek Carr, whose contract hit is $ 51.4 million in the coming season. So in this offseason there is a big challenge for Kellen Moore while trying to bring the team back onto the winning road, like laola1.at and Si.com Report.
