Harald Glööckler mourns the loss of his loyal friend Billy – a heartbreak!
Fashion designer Harald Glööckler feels badly hit after the death of his beloved dog Billy, a 14-year-old Papillon male. Billy died that night at the breeder where he was born. Saying goodbye was an emotional moment for Glööckler, as he was able to communicate via video with his faithful companion as he took his last breath. “It was terrible,” explained Glööckler, “but I think he wanted to go.” Billy was more than just a pet; He was Glööckler's best friend and accompanied him for over a decade, despite his recurring health problems.
“Billy was an angel on four feet and infinitely important,” said Glööckler with sadness. In his last days he felt his dog's dwindling will to live. After his death, Glööckler has no plans to adopt a new dog: "I have nothing in mind about cemeteries. He will be cremated and I will get the urn." He doesn't completely rule out future four-legged friends, but "You can't replace Billy," he says clearly. This personal drama of the couturier is being received sympathetically by many in the public, as his loyal dog had occupied a significant place in his life and career, such as Daily Mirror reported.
Glööckler was in the final stages of Billy's life via video to ensure he didn't die alone. This direct connection characterizes the special relationship between the designer and his dog. He is not currently looking for a successor, but wants to have a dog again one day when the time is right.
