Vienna is investing 3.3 billion euros for better health until 2030!
The Vienna city government made a significant decision at its exam in the Floridsdorf Clinic, which will revolutionize the health care of the city. According to Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) and Health City Councilor Peter Hacker (SPÖ), around 3.3 billion euros will be invested in the modernization of the Viennese hospitals by 2030. This measure also includes the construction of at least 29 regional health centers, including 18 primary care centers. These institutions should significantly improve the quality of care in the resident area and react specifically to the increasing need for health services, such as vienna.at reported.
A central concern of Hacker is the training of nurses, whereby more than 16,000 new specialists are to be trained by 2030 in order to cover the growing need through the aging population. At the same time, Hacker emphasizes urgency to intensify the training of doctors by the federal government, as many doctors will retire in the next few years. These challenges are reinforced by demographic changes and increasing health problems among the population, such as non -transferable diseases and chronic diseases, which were already identified by Vienna's health goals in 2015.
