75 years of home meeting: Partnership between Verden and Poland strengthened!
Verden has recently celebrated an important event that strengthens cultural and friendly relationships between Germany and Poland. As part of the 75-year-old home district meeting, a joint explanation was signed, which strengthened the cooperation between the cities and counties of the two countries. This signing took place in the district house of Verden and framed an important working meeting in which delegations from the district of Verden, the district community of Prussian Eylau and the Polish partner municipalities took part.
The Polish delegation under the direction of the newly elected district administrator Elzbieta Zablocka visited Verden to take part in this solemn occasion. District Administrator Peter Bohlmann and other high -ranking representatives of the German side had the opportunity to bring the guests and the members of the district community closer to the long history of cooperation between the two countries.
The roots of the partnership
The first meeting of the Prussian Eylau district community goes back to 1949 when it was still in Hamburg-Altona. Since the foundation of the district community on October 3, 1948, a lot has changed. The district of Verden took over the sponsorship in 1955, which led to the permanent shift of the meeting to Verden. This development illustrates how significant relationships for both sides are and how they have developed over the decades.
Bohlmann emphasized the role of partnership in various areas, including culture, economy and social education. Such topics are of great importance, because they offer the basis for sustainable cooperation and a deeper connection between the people of both nations. The signing of the explanation is a new step in this direction.
Another highlight of the meeting was the wreath's laying at the memorial for the German East in the Verden Bürgerpark, in which Mayor Lutz Brockmann and representative of the Polish delegation also took part. This solemn gesture honored the story and memory of the connections between the countries.
The cooperation between the regions not only affects the past, but also includes the future. Evelyn von Borries, the chair of the Prussian Eylau district community, emphasized the importance of this day in her warm words. "It is a great honor for me to stand on this special day," she said, pointing out that the meeting was not only a celebration of the past, but also the present and future of the home district.
At the event, the former mayor of Górowo Ilaweckie, Bozena Olszewska-Switaj, was also awarded for her services to the partnership. This honor shows how important personal relationships and the commitment of individuals are in international cooperation.
The home district meeting, in which many guests took part, was described as completely successful. The participants are excited about the next meeting in the coming year, which will surely offer another opportunity to strengthen the existing friendships and to further develop joint projects.
