Vienna Health Prize 2025: Journalists pay attention!
Viennese health promotion - WIG once again advertised the Vienna Health Prize, which is devoted to the important topic of "healthy aging" this year. The price includes three media prices that are awarded to outstanding journalistic contributions that deal with health promotion of older people. This was emphasized by Peter Hacker, City Councilor for Social Affairs, Health and Sport, as well as Dennis Beck, Managing Director of Vienna Health Promotion - WIG, and noted how important it is to support the design of the quality of life in old age, since life expectancy in society is steadily increasing. The submitted work should have been published in Austrian printing or online media between January 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025, and relate to the time after working life.

The Vienna Health Prize is not only awarded for journalistic work, but also in different categories, including "Healthy in Grätzel and District" and "Healthy in Facilities/Organizations". These categories are characterized by projects that influence the health of the Viennese population directly, be it in their living environment or in health facilities such as schools and old people's homes. The winners receive 2,000 euros in the categories, while the second and third-place places will receive 1,500 euros or 1,000 euros. Particularly noteworthy are the three media prices, each endowed with 500 euros, which are awarded as part of the price.
