Weiz becomes a model model for environmentally friendly logistics!

The Craiss Generation Logistik Austria GmbH & Co. KG has made an important step towards sustainable logistics. At the Weiz location, two fully electric Mercedes EACTROS 300 were put into operation, which in future are to make regional local transport more ecological. With this investment, the company pursues the goal of significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and minimizing fuel consumption. Marco Niesen, deputy location manager, emphasizes the company's responsibility towards the environment, "... that we are aware of our responsibility for the environment and society." The new electrical trucks are used on a fixed route of ten kilometers and replace two diesel vehicles, which means a noticeable relief for the air quality in Weiz, as also emphasizes Pascal Mroncz from the sustainability department.

expansion in Weiz for technical services

In Parallel to the environmentally friendly innovations, Craiss has also announced a comprehensive expansion of the location in Weiz. On October 8, the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of around 20,000 square meters took place in order to meet the increasing requirements of technology customers Siemens Energy. Managing Director Michael Craiss explains that this step is necessary to "... to secure the competitiveness of Siemens Energy in the long term." The enlargement of the logistics center should be completed by the beginning of 2026 and offers additional production areas to better manage logistical challenges. Due to the proximity to a track connection, truck traffic should be reduced and CO₂ emissions are to be reduced. A central measure is also the integration of renewable energies to further minimize the ecological footprints.

The expansion will not only increase efficiency, but also create new jobs, so that 100 to 120 employees will be active at the Weiz location in the future. In addition, the installation of a 160-kW speed charging station for the electric trucks is guaranteed, with which the vehicles can be fully charged in just four hours. These strategic investments are part of Craiss’s long -term plan to create the foundations for sustainable logistics of the future, while at the same time taking into account the needs of customers.
