Innsbruck, Österreich - Voluntary work in Tyrol plays a decisive role annually with over 470 million hours, which generates a value added of more than 10 billion euros. These figures illustrate how deeply the voluntary commitment is rooted in the Tyrolean society. According to a study by Erste Bank and Sparkasse, around 44 % of the Tyroleans: Inside, volunteering is important, which is above the Austrian average of 33 %. This commitment is particularly pronounced in rural areas. The second Sparkasse, a project by the Tyrolean Sparkasse, offers support for people who are disadvantaged in the traditional financial system. Since its foundation in 2017, the organization has accompanied more than 1,600 people and currently has around 400 by volunteers: inside. Dietmar Gschließer, social banking representative, knows the challenges: "We not only help in acute emergency situations, but also create long -term perspectives," he explains. In view of the increasing debt figures, the second savings bank complements its focus by supporting particularly endangered groups such as young adults and single women with training and advice.
