The future of medical care in Tyrol is on the country's agenda. From the study year 2025/2026, up to five dedicated medical study places will be awarded at the Medical University of Innsbruck. Dolomitenstadt reports that this initiative is aimed at ensuring medical care in public healthcare.

A central point of this initiative is the obligation of the students to work in the public health service in Tyrol at least five years after completing their training. The Tyrolean state government informs that the entry-level salary for these positions is at least EUR 7,042.70 gross monthly. In addition, the students receive a monthly training allowance of at least 1,000 euros during their studies.
