Strengthen self-confidence: workshop for girls in Salzburg!

An important workshop is taking place in Salzburg, aimed at girls and women and organized by the city's women's office. Over two days, the participants will be taught valuable self-defense skills. The type of self-defense taught in this course focuses not on just fighting, but on confidence in your own abilities, body language and appropriate action. The trainer is an experienced social worker and psychotherapist who supports the participants with her expertise. The events, which take place in the new rehearsal room in Salzburg-Gnigl, are designed for a maximum of twelve participants, with further dates in the coming months, such as ORF Salzburg reported.

Diverse perspectives for girls

But that's not all that is offered to girls in Salzburg: parallel to these workshops, programs are also offered that aim to support girls and non-binary young people in their career orientation. These workshops give participants the opportunity to get to know different careers and discover their own talents. It is pointed out that only 68% of female apprentices in Salzburg are trained in only ten of around 200 possible professions. This means that many girls are faced with the challenge that their interests and talents are not sufficiently represented. The programs of the Compass educational advice for girls support young women to choose an informed and cliché-free career path.

This combination of self-defense and professional orientation ensures that participants are not only physically strengthened, but also receive the necessary self-confidence and information to actively shape their future. The workshops are an important step towards promoting gender equality and empowering young women in society.
