Right -wing radical demo in Friedrichshain: Protests announced on the Ostkreuz!
Lichtenberg, Deutschland - in Berlin-Friedrichshain has caused a radical right-wing demonstration. Today, a group who calls itself "for law and order: against left -wing extremism and politically motivated violence" wanted to move through Rigaer Straße, known for their left -wing extremist occupation. However, due to the tense situation and the expected blockade attempts, the route was changed by the police. Instead, the march now leads from the Ostkreuz station via the Frankfurter Allee to Lichtenberg. The Senate administration expects that only 50 to 100 of the registered 500 participants will actually appear, but describes the situation as a possible provocation of violent persons of a new right -wing extremist youth culture, as Merkur reported.

A wide alliance of left -wing organizations organized numerous counter -demonstrations for the same day, which are supposed to start from 12 noon. A total of 13 different rallies along the right -wing demonstration route were registered, which, according to the organizers, is supposed to set a strong sign against fascist currents in society. The Berlin police have also announced that due to the expectations of number of participants and the counter -protests taking place in parallel, considerable traffic impairments between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The police emphasize that the focus will be on giving both sides the right to a peaceful demonstration. In many districts around Friedrichshain, creative and diverse protests are carried out, including dance events and symbolic marches to stand up for tolerance and diversity. In an environment that is characterized by tensions, preparations for these events have played a central role.
