demands for better protective measures
In view of these worrying developments, the German Foundation for Patient Protection has called for measures to better protect old and seriously ill patients. Board of Directors Eugen Brysch emphasized that "serial murderers in nursing and medicine are made too easy." He called for an obligation to show the corpse by an official doctor if those in need of care die in order to deter possible perpetrators and protect the most vulnerable in society. Brysch also advocated a "culture of looking" in care facilities, since the colleagues are often the first to discover information on such acts.Details | |
