Neustadt gets new dog meadow: Top location at Lidl!

In Neustadt there is a new attraction for dogs and their owners: The city council has decided to set up a public dog meadow in Martin-Luther-Strasse east of the Lidl market. This decision was made after intensive preparation in the Committee on the Environment and Nature Conservation, which finally found the approval of the city council. The dog meadow is laid out on a 2,000 square meter fallow plot of meadows on Speyerbach, since this offers the advantage of being adjacent to a parking space and rather no residents' conflicts, such as the Rheinpfalz reported.

In the city's household, a total of 30,000 euros are planned for fencing, a bank and trash can. The system will offer an attractive place for both the dogs and their owners to exchange ideas and be active. However, due to limited financial funds, the new meadow will only be maintained six to eight times a year. The decision for the dog meadow shows the endeavor of the city to create public spaces for animal society, which is also addressed in the report of Mittelpfalz
