New guideline ensures safe evacuation in the event of a danger!
In the face of more and more frequent risks such as fires, explosions or natural events, the safety of people in companies and public institutions is more important than ever. So that everyone can be evacuated quickly and safely in emergencies, the Association of German Engineers (VDI) has published the updated guideline VDI 4062 sheet 1 e "Evacuation of people in the event of danger". This new guideline will replace the previous version and offers practice -oriented instructions for employers, operators and responsible persons on how to develop and implement an effective evacuation concept. Specialist coordinators for evacuation can adapt the concepts in accordance with the VDI directive for various types of danger and operating processes so that affected persons can be brought to safety as soon as possible, such as VDI. The new regulations are a crucial instrument for companies in order to be prepared for the emergency and to meet legal requirements in accordance with § 10 ArbSchG.
The new draft of the VDI directive 4062 Blatt 1 E has been available since December 2024 and can be obtained for 103.50 euros via DIN Media. Objections to the draft are possible by February 28, 2025 and can be submitted to the company via the electronic opposition portal or by email. This guideline ensures that companies can do their responsibility for the security of their employees and visitors and, in an emergency, act quickly and efficiently in an emergency.
