Murder of pro-Trump activist: Suspect remains silent after arrest!
On September 15, 2025, the American political world is in turmoil over the murder of prominent pro-Trump activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot dead on the campus of Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested as the prime suspect after being located on Thursday evening, 33 hours after the attack. Robinson is not only accused of murder, but also of weapons law violations and obstruction of justice. He has so far refused to give a statement to investigators and will be formally charged on Tuesday.
This brutal act occurred during a question-and-answer session in which, among other things, Kirk answered a question about transgender assassins. Unidentified shots fired from a building about 180 meters away took Kirk's life. The incident sparked national outrage, particularly among Kirk's supporters, who see the "radical left" as responsible for the violence. President Donald Trump spoke out clearly against the political and social tensions, but at the same time did not call for any measures to de-escalate the situation. The Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, appealed to Trump in an open letter to work towards calming the climate.
Investigations and motives
The investigators are faced with the challenge of finding out a possible motive for the brutal act. According to the arrest warrant, Tyler Robinson expressed a dislike of Kirk and his political involvement, fueling speculation that personal ideological differences may have played a role. Robinson grew up in a conservative region, but expressed that his views differed greatly from those of his family. Also striking are the cartridge cases, which contain references to anti-fascist slogans, including the engraving "hey fascist! FANG!", which were found near the crime scene.
Robinson, who lives in St. George, Utah, has no criminal record and recently completed a semester at Utah State University. His family, including his father, helped with the arrest after seeing FBI mugshots. However, Robinson's roommate, a trans woman, is cooperating with the authorities and could provide crucial information.
Political violence in the USA
The killing of Charlie Kirk is not the first incident of political violence in the United States and shines a stark light on current societal tensions. The slow rise of extremist violence has increased in recent years, raising questions about political rhetoric and its consequences. Historically, political violence in the United States is not new and has roots dating back to the Civil War.
The alarming incidents contribute to creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear in society. According to reports from South German newspaper Such acts of violence are taking on alarming proportions, with the American president taking no visible steps to defuse the situation.
