Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - The Upper Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM is currently facing an existential crisis. After the threat of the impending bankruptcy, the payment of December wages and salaries is in danger. According to the Upper Austria Chamber of Labor, the Christmas bonus for the thousands of employees is not paid out: FPÖ general secretary NABG. Christian Hafenecker described as unacceptable. He demands from KTM boss Stefan Pierer to secure salaries with private means, since the workforce has contributed significantly to the success of the company. "The employees are the greatest capital of every successful company," emphasizes Hafenecker and criticizes Pierer sharply for party donations to the ÖVP for the past, while the workforce is now in financial need, as on OTS Reported.
dividends and impending bankruptcy
The Situation is further tightened: An bankruptcy application for KTM is to be submitted on Friday. Although society is not over -indebted, the company sees no way to pay the due salaries without making prior adjustments to the financial obligations. There are legal reasons as from Puls24 . In April of this year, however, the parent company Pierer Mobility paid generous dividends of around 16.9 million euros to their shareholders, while the employees now have to worry about their Christmas bonus.
The announcement of a renovation process with self -administration should save the situation, but it will take a long time for the employees to receive their outstanding salary. In addition, a "European restructuring process" is underway, which is of great importance for the company. At the moment there are due densities of around 250 million euros, the repayment of which is to be extended. The serious location at KTM shows how quickly economic successes can turn into disastrous conditions.
