wide expertise and innovative approaches

The national challenges in the health sector were highlighted by Juliane Bogner-Strauß, MP to the National Council. She criticized the low participation rate in the breast cancer early detection program and spoke out for a holistic approach to gynecological provision. Life phases should be taken into account, from HPV vaccination to topics such as menopause. The participants designed specific solutions, such as the introduction of a pension pass with memory functions. Another central topic was the achievement of people with migration biographies to facilitate access to preventive measures.

The psychological and social aspects of cancer were also highlighted. The support of those affected plays a crucial role in difficult times. As part of these efforts, MSD also launched the “Café Krebs” project, which deals with the emotional and physical challenges for cancer. Experienced moderators who are affected themselves offer insights into realities in life and encourage discussions about symptoms and treatment options. This shows the need to increase the visibility of women-specific health problems and to promote more openness in society, as msd-gesundheit.de
