There are several important media players in Carinthia, including the online editorial team of the ORF Landesstudio Carinthia, which has existed since July 1998. This editorial team was founded with the aim of providing a broad audience with news and was a pioneer in the field of audio and video offers. Users are given the opportunity to hear Radio Carinthia live worldwide. A committed team of seven editors, including Petra Haas, Michael Kopeinig and Barbara Frank, works on the current reporting every day and also accompanies important literary events such as the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize. The editors have contributed significantly to the development of online journalism in Carinthia.

Development of the media landscape in Carinthia

Following the extensive media reporting, there is another important step: the establishment of the "Regional Media Carinthia", which was created by the merger of Week and Carinthian regional media until January 2021. This common team has set itself the goal of developing a new media and service offer for the citizens. The introduction of a new digital platform and a relaunch of existing products are planned to better respond to the needs of readers and customers. Christine Tamegger, the managing director, emphasizes the creation of a comprehensive communication platform that takes into account the community, village and city life. This Initiative is part of a larger strategy that aims to become an active regional designer from a regional mediator.

The new media organization is managed by Thomas Klose and Peter Kowal as editor-in-chief duo. This change in the media landscape not only shows how important regional reporting is, but also how the market wants to react to the needs of its readers. Talented editors, creative, digital expert, producers and sellers are sought in the near future to successfully implement this project.
