Young person convicted: Robbery at Tulln train station shocks Zwentendorf!
A 17-year-old from the market town Zwentendorf on the Danube got into a serious incident in mid-August when he attacked an acquaintance at the Tulln city train station. He punched the victim several times and kicked him in the thigh before demanding to hand over a wristwatch worth €250. The St. Pölten public prosecutor's office viewed this act as clear robbery and brought charges against the young person. The crime was triggered by a suspicion that the injured party had harassed a mutual acquaintance two years ago.
The teenager, who has previously been reported for criminal damage, theft and drug use, was given a suspended six-month prison sentence for this latest crime. In addition, he was required to complete psychotherapy. He voluntarily returned the watch about three days after the crime and apologized. Despite his criminal record, the events bring to light the problems of his recent past and raise questions about his behavior.
