Innovations for the future: Technical Museum Vienna shows young ideas!

In the Technical Museum of Vienna, the exciting exhibition "Innovation Corner" opened its doors on March 12, 2025. This new concept offers young innovators from Austria a platform to present their future -oriented technologies. As the general director of the museum, Peter Aufiter, emphasizes, the exhibition is a gathering point for visions and solutions that address social challenges. Supported by the Austria Wirtschaftservice Gesellschaft (AWS), the most promising projects of schoolchildren and young researchers are presented here at this year's initiative, which runs until September 2, 2025, such as Technical Museum.at reported.

A highlight of the exhibition are innovative ideas, including the "Independo" app, which enables people with cognitive restrictions to access digital calendars. In addition, the start-up "Wendy Windenergy" shows a vertical small wind turbine that offers high energy efficiency even in weak winds. Further innovative approaches come from "Recell" that recycled used batteries in a modular home storage system, and "Airmate", a floatable T-shirt for children, which is inflated during water contact to prevent drowning accidents. These and other projects impressively demonstrate how technical developments can improve the quality of life, regardless of the social dangers that we face, as described by ots.at

a window into the future

The "Innovation Corner" is not only a platform for today's ideas, but also an outlook on future developments in the areas of medical technology and Life Science. Fascinating projects were already presented in 2024, including innovative approaches to treat depression or prototypes that can treat diabetic neuropathy. This shows the dynamic connection between science, technology and practical use in healthcare. Visitors can experience so close how versatile the MINT area (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) is and which creative solutions are developed in Austria.
