Revolutionary discovery: Can Cancer cells change back into health?
A revolutionary discovery in cancer research! South Korean scientists from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kaist) have identified a genetic "switch" that enables to reduce cancer cells to a healthy state. This groundbreaking study, published in the journal Advanced Science , could drastically change the approach to cancer treatment by stopping the progression of the disease instead of brutally destroying the sick cells, as is the case with operations, radiation therapies or chemotherapies, reports "The Sun" .
The team under the direction of Professor Kwang-Hyun Cho has discovered a critical transition state in which cells combine healthy and cancer-like properties. With a targeted modulation of molecular mechanisms, the researchers managed to attribute these cells to their original healthy state and at the same time stop cancer growth. Dr. Troso-Sandoval, a recognized oncologist, describes this development as promising, since it opens up the possibility of developing personalized, less toxic therapies that targeted to "reprogram" cancer cells instead of destroying them
