In the night of April 4, 2025, a tragic traffic accident occurred on the A2 South Autobahn near ASFINAG Rastplatz Grafenstein North. At 3:20 a.m., a car hit a impact damper head -on. The alarm was triggered at 3:34 a.m., and the fire brigades from Ebenthal, Grafenstein and Poggersdorf were asked for help.

When the rescue workers arrived, the two occupants of the vehicle, both 31 years old and from Klagenfurt, died.
