Terrible accident on the A63: two dead and seriously injured!

On January 4, 2025, a serious traffic accident occurred between two vehicles on the A63 motorway in the direction of Kaiserslautern. On October 23, 2024, there was a tragic traffic accident on the A63 in the direction of Mainz near Saulheim. This accident, which occurred around 1:10 p.m., involved several vehicles, including a Fiat Ducato with a trailer, an Opel Combo and a Mercedes Transporter. The driver of the Fiat had stopped on the hard shoulder when a 33-year-old from Frankfurt drove his Mercedes into the stationary vehicles. This vehicle overturned and came to rest in the left lane.

In this incident, the two occupants of the Opel, 45 and 58 years old, died despite resuscitation measures at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Fiat and the person who caused the accident were seriously injured and taken to hospital. The use of rescue helicopters and police helicopters was necessary, and the Mainz public prosecutor's office commissioned experts to clarify the circumstances of the accident. In addition, an investigation into negligent homicide was initiated against the driver of the Mercedes.
