Two different traffic accidents recently occurred in the Gifhorn district, which were related to winter weather conditions. On October 9th there was an incident involving a public bus, while the following Sunday evening there was a fatal accident on the B248.

Parts of the region were affected by slippery snow on October 9th. Fortunately, all occupants were able to exit the vehicle independently, including two children. After the rescue, the passengers were taken to the Rethen fire station and looked after there. The transport company organized several replacement vehicles, but these were not used because the passengers were picked up elsewhere. The fire brigade's operation ended around 8 p.m., while the recovery work on the bus continued.

Fatal accident in slippery conditions

On Sunday evening, following the incident with the bus, there was a tragic accident on the B248 between Tappenbeck and Jembke. The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing, but initial indications point to excessive speed. The man's vehicle was also equipped with summer tires, which may have contributed to the danger.
