historical context of the fire brigade
The long traditions of the fire brigade go back to Roman times. The first fire brigade was 21 BC Founded and consisted of 600 slaves. Historically, the municipalities in the Middle Ages were obliged to ensure fire protection. Firefighting equipment has developed significantly over the centuries, from buckets and ladders in the Middle Ages to the invention of the hose in the 16th century to modern vehicles such as the new HLF2 in Aigen.
The historical evolution of the fire brigade is not only reflected in technology, but also in the organization. Voluntary fire departments often emerged from gymnastics and played an important role in society, which also illustrates today's relevance and commitment of the Aigen volunteer fire brigade.
