Intensive search for missing 77-year-old started at the Hirschberg
Hirschberg, Langen, Österreich - In the picturesque Vorarlberg, a 77-year-old woman has been missing since Monday afternoon. The pensioner wanted to take a short walk to the chapel near the Hirschberg Alpe, but did not return as planned. This worrying situation led to a large -scale search that was started by the police, fire brigade and mountain rescue on Monday evening. Although the helpers searched until the early hours of the morning, the senior citizen remained without a trace.
On Tuesday, the emergency services continued the search with 80 people, including sniffer dogs, drones and a police helicopter. "The area is very extensive and there are many hiking trails that lead to the valley," said Peter Kogler, the head of operations. Despite all the efforts, the search had to be broken off without success when dark. In the meantime, the 77-year-old has been missing since Monday evening, which has increased the fear of an accident. When the police asked for clues, it was also known that the missing person may have demented, which could explain their sudden disappearance, as vorarlberg.orf reported.
intensive searches in rough terrain
The previous searches have proven to be challenging: a total of up to 120 helpers were involved, who searched the area around the 1,095 meter high Hirschberg. The senior citizen, who is supposed to be fit for her age, is described as follows: about 1.60 to 1.65 meters tall, slim and with gray hair. She wore an anthracite -colored coat, dark trousers and a light scarf. So far, there is a big puzzle whether the senior has reached her goal or has been in difficulties before she could get to the chapel, such as the emphasized.
