On February 22, 2025, a dramatic room fire occurred in Linz on Paracelsusstrasse, which was triggered by burnt dishes in an ground floor apartment. Already at 7:49 a.m., the Linz professional fire brigade alerted the emergency services to the multi -party house after an emergency call. The flames quickly spread to the furniture in the apartment, while the tenant desperately tried to save herself out of the smoke.

At this critical moment, the tenant was observed by an attentive postman who was on site. The employee noticed that she wanted to squeeze out in the tube frame through an open window in order to escape the dense smoke. He acted immediately, grabbed the young woman on his feet and pulled her out of the danger zone with all the might, while the cumbersome roller shutter closed behind her. The tenant was then handed over to the ambulance service with suspicion of flue gas poisoning, such as Nachrichten reported.

The fire brigade was able to quickly control the fire. A respiratory protection squad extinguished the flames, while another squad checked the slightly smoky staircase and calmed down the other tenants. Fortunately, other apartments in the building remained unscathed and could continue to be used. The brave postman said modestly after his courageous act: "Everyone would have done that and I have to continue to deliver 140 packages", as fireworld.at
