On the evening of December 25th there was a dramatic effort in Cologne-Niehl when the fire brigade saved an 80-year-old woman from a burning house. According to Ksta.de , the fire brigade was alerted at 6:54 p.m. after a home smoke alarm in Pohlmannstrasse. Witnesses reported for calls for help from an apartment on the third floor. Within just eight minutes after the emergency call, the emergency services managed to violently access the apartment. There they found the senior citizen in a wheelchair and immediately took her to the hospital.

Already on June 16 there was another serious incident in Bergheim-Oberaußem. A fire broke out here around 9:20 p.m. in an apartment building in the street in the Funkenkamp. The police and fire brigade found a considerable column of smoke and flames on the first floor on site. An attentive neighbor noticed the fire and immediately called help. During the extinguishing work, a 52-year-old woman was saved from the burning apartment, which was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, the other residents remained unharmed.
