Fire brigade Wetzles strengthens team: promotions and anniversary celebrated!

Wetzles, Österreich - The Wetzles volunteer fire brigade recently celebrated a remarkable milestone because it was able to duly appreciate its 90th anniversary with a great celebration. This took place on May 6th in Wetzles and was celebrated by numerous guests of honor, including Federal Councilor and Mayor Margit Göll. The new HLF vehicle was also blessed under the festive atmosphere of a solemn service, celebrated by Father Markus Feyerag. The celebrations were musically accompanied by the Stadtkapelle Weitra. Jürgen Schuster, the commander of the fire brigade, also received a 500 euro voucher to support the purchase of new equipment from Member of the Landtag Anja Scherzer, such as meinzirk.at reported.

Not too long ago, the fire brigade invited to the fire station for its annual general meeting, to which Mayor Patrick Layr and City Councilor Franz Haumer also received an invitation. These took the opportunity to thank the volunteer fire brigade for their tireless efforts, especially when there was a flood in September 2024. Four fire brigade members were promoted in the meeting: Daniela Atteneder and Stefan Schölm are now main firefighters, and Nicole Schuster and Florian Prandl-Woller were appointed chief firefighter.
