Princess of Wales: Christmas message full of love and empathy

Princess of Wales Catherine has shared a touching letter about love and empathy to guests at her Together At Christmas Christmas carol which will take place at Westminster Abbey on Friday and at 15 regional services across the UK this month. In her message, Kate describes the service as "a heartfelt celebration" for all in attendance and thanks guests for "offering comfort and hope to those who need it most."

A light of hope in difficult times

The Princess talks about vulnerability and empathy, emphasizing that “in times of joy and sadness, we are all light to each other.” The role of love is particularly emphasized. She explains that the Christmas story “above all encourages us to find love and not fear.” Alluding to the challenges she and her family have faced since her Cancer diagnosis faced this year, the Princess writes that “love is the light that can shine even in the darkest of times.”

Design of the church service

The letter, signed “Catherine,” will be given to all guests in the program booklet. The cover of the program was designed by British artist Charlie Mackesy. An illustration shows a group of people hugging while walking through the snow to Westminster Abbey. Below that is the question: “How did I help?” and the answer: "You were by my side. That was everything."

Readings and musical performances

Readings will be given during the service by actors such as Sophie Okonedo, Michelle Dockery and Richard E. Grant. The Prince of Wales and Olympic gold medal swimmer Adam Peaty will also do readings. Candles will be lit by Lindsey Burrow, the widow of rugby star Rob Burrow, who died this year from motor neurone disease, as well as Paralympians Lizzi Jordan and Danni Khan and six-time Olympic cycling champion Chris Hoy, who passed away in October terminal cancer diagnosis had spoken.

Community and regional engagement

The Westminster Abbey Choir will sing Christmas carols and there will be musical performances from guests including Olivia Dean, Gregory Porter, Paloma Faith and pianist Rosey Chan. The Prince and Princess of Wales will be joined by other members of the Royal Family and 1,600 invited guests, including children Stabbing attack in Southport survived this year and their families.

Regional church services and television broadcast

Across the UK, 15 regional services will reflect the themes of the Westminster Abbey service, each tailored to the needs of each community and particularly dedicated to the many volunteers. The event at Westminster Abbey will be broadcast on television in the United Kingdom on Christmas Eve, as part of a special program entitled "Royal Carols: Together At Christmas."

Kate has gradually gained weight over the last few months public engagement found back. This week she and her husband, Prince William, hosted the Emir of Qatar during his state visit to the United Kingdom.
