Silver frenzy for Switzerland: Holdener and Gut-Behrami shine together!

In an exciting competition at the World Championships in Ski Alpin in Saalbach, Lara Gut-Behrami and Wendy Holdener won the silver medal in the new team combination competition for Switzerland. "It is nice to experience such a success through this competition," says Gut-Behrami. This medal is already the second at this event for Holdener, who recently had to struggle with difficulties. Despite the nervousness in the target area, she managed to drive the fastest time in the slalom and to catch up with BlueWin.ch reported.

The prerequisites for success were initially anything but rosy for the Swiss duo. Corinne Suter and Lara Gut-Behrami had more than a second behind in the downhill part of the competition, which the slalom specialists presented with a major challenge. Holdener, who started from 12th place, mastered the task with flying colors and not only reached the finish line, but also led her team on the podium. After the race she confessed: "When I was at the finish and had to wait, I was very nervous." Gut-Behrami tried to calm her down and said: "I didn't know what to do at the finish", which underlines the tension between the two athletes. The crown emphasizes how important Holdener's performance was for the medal gain.

Gut-Behrami pays respect for her teammate and explains: "95 percent of the medal today belongs to Wendy." This appreciation shows the close cooperation and the trust between the two athletes who have known each other for a long time. Gut-Behrami praised Holdener's ability in slalom and found how important it was to start in a team. Holdener's performance gives them the hope of being able to fight a medal again at the Olympic Games in Cortina in the coming year. While Gut-Behrami jokes that she wanted to catch up with the time for the winners Johnson and Shiffrin, Holdener is confident: "We hope that we can fight again next year."
