In the middle of a tense financial situation, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP) relies on the billion -dollar development plan for the Bundesheer, known as 2032+. Despite the pressure on budget consolidation, Tanner is planning to invest over 16 billion euros in modernizations and new purchases by 2032, including new combat tanks, air defense systems and transport aircraft. Tanner also rejected the concerns about an “east -loading” in the government team and emphasized the need for continuity for the implementation of the structure plan.
