Voitsberg, Österreich - Sigrid Reiter dared to jump and ventured into the exciting world of the Netherlands from her home district of Voitsberg. The 23-year-old currently enjoys her master's degree at the "Hotschool Utrecht" and enthusiastically reports on her experiences in the land of windmills and tulips. "The people here are so sociable and warm!" She enthuses. She particularly emphasizes the openness of the Dutch, which makes it easier for her to communicate in English in the new environment, since many of the residents speak English fluently.

Together with a friend, Sigrid 2023 started her search for a place for her mandatory semester. After a semester in Zwolle, a charming city in the northeast of the Netherlands, it turned out that this was the best decision. "It was really fate," she sums up. In Utrecht, which offers a living student scene with around 374,500 inhabitants, she quickly settled in. Thanks to digital official paths, such as the online registration of the residence, the move was a child's play.

The student also takes the opportunity to work in an English-language e-commerce company where she already assumes all sorts of responsibility. She is enthusiastic about the pulsating atmosphere of the city - when she strolls through Utrecht in the evening, she sees residents who spend time together in restaurants and cafés and celebrate the conviviality. These experiences have not only enriched their personal life, but also changed their gaze to their own homeland. "I would like more openness and courage for our district to try new things," says Sigrid and is grateful that she is supported by family and friends from Voitsberg.
