New non-stop flights from Salzburg to Pristina from March 2026!

Salzburg Airport will introduce a new flight connection to Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, on March 29, 2026. This announcement represents a double first, as the new airline GP Aviation will begin its services at the same time. According to 5min.at, the connection is planned as a non-stop flight with a frequency of twice a week, on Thursday and Sunday.

Isabella Laimer, Head of Aviation Sales & Marketing at Salzburg Airport, highlights the demand and attractiveness of this new route. The targets include not only tourist guests and business travelers, but also the large number of family and friend visits from the Kosovo community in Salzburg.

Flight details and airline information

The route will use a GP Aviation Airbus A320, which is already available for bookings via the airline's website and common platforms. GP Aviation, founded in 2019 and based in Pristina, aims to establish a growing route network in Europe. The airline connects Kosovo directly to Central and Northern Europe and Salzburg is part of its network expansion in summer 2026, which also includes Vienna, Oslo, Brussels and Bergamo salzburg-airport.com reports.

GP Aviation plays an important role in the cultural and economic exchange between Austria and Kosovo and at the same time promotes the development of the aviation sector in this region.

Tourism in Kosovo

Kosovo, known for its cultural diversity and natural beauty, has seen an increase in tourist arrivals in recent years. In 2022, the country received 297,588 foreign tourists, an increase from 177,358 in 2019, as documented in travel.gjirafa.com. This shows Kosovo’s potential as an emerging travel destination.

Particular highlights of the region are Pristina with its mix of historical and modern architecture, Prizren with its charming old town center and the Sharr Mountains, which offer numerous leisure activities. The tourism sector contributes significantly to Kosovo's economy and is a significant source of employment for many people in the region, supported by local businesses and infrastructure projects.

The new flight connection from Salzburg not only improves accessibility to Pristina, but also promotes economic exchange between the two countries. The Kosovo government is also working to further expand the tourism infrastructure and position the country as an attractive travel destination in Europe.
