Made-in-Europe bonus: 20% more funding for solar systems in Austria!

From June 23, 2025, a new “Made in Europe” bonus will be introduced in Austria, which increases the funding for photovoltaic systems with Kostal Plenticore interverters and Varta.Wall to up to 20 %. This is particularly relevant because the bonus with the second funding call for photovoltaic and electricity storage projects comes into force. The aim of this initiative is to strengthen European industry and to proceed against unjustified competitive conditions in the global market. The funding budget for this round amounts to twelve million euros, while in October there are an additional eight million euros available for the third funding call, such as Oekonews reports.

The photovoltaic systems also benefit from regular funding that can vary depending on the system size. In this way, systems up to 10 kW receive a grant of 160 euros per kW, while systems between 10 and 20 kW are funded at 150 euros per KW. For larger systems of 20 to 100 kW, the set is 140 euros per kW. The regular grant for electricity storage is 150 euros per kWh. In the case of built -in European solar modules or inverters, an additional 20 % and 10 % surcharge for the investment grant can be applied for in Europe.

Varta and Kostal: Quality and innovation

The Varta.Wall is the first battery memory that is on the whitelist of the recognized eligible products. It is offered in capacities of 10, 15 and 20 kWh and is characterized by its compact design of only 10 cm depth, which makes the installation easy. Kostal Plenticore, a multi -award -winning hybrid inverter, enables the performance per size to be expanded by two performance levels. He also supplies households for power outages on all three phases and offers intelligent shadow management as well as interfaces for controlling other consumers, such as wall boxes or air conditioning systems, such as Varta supplemented.

Both products are ideally coordinated, which enables flexible adjustment of the storage capacity and the inverter performance. VARTA AG, with over 135 years of experience in battery technology, and Kostal demonstrate not only a commitment to European quality, but also for local service offers.

Promotion and legal framework

With regard to the nationwide grants, the Renewable Expansion Act (EAG) aims to further support the use of renewable energies. Photovoltaic systems that do not meet the specific requirements for sales tax exemption have the option of applying for funding using an investment grant. Interested parties should also find out more about the regional funding offers in the federal states, because these vary greatly. For example, Carinthia, Salzburg and Vienna promote thermal-energetic residential renovations, while in Upper Austria measures are promoted to improve thermal insulation in operational buildings.

On the subject of the zero tax rate on photovoltaic modules, it is pointed out that this generally ends on March 31, 2025. Only contracts that were concluded before March 7, 2025 can benefit from this zero tax rate by December 31, 2025. Future support calls for 2025 are expected to be released in April, which is important for many homeowners who want to invest in renewable energies, such as oesterreich.gv.at.
