War in Ukraine: Russian bomb attack demands further victims!

The location in Ukraine continues to escalate! On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at least four people were killed in a devastating Russian air raid on the second largest city of Kharkiv. Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on the terrible consequences of the nightly bombing, which the city, just 30 km away from the Russian border, reported again. An earlier attack injured six people and destroyed the iconic Derzhprom building, a landmark from the 1920s, which is now in ruins.

In the capital Kiev, a residential building in Solomianskyi was hit by a Russian drone attack, which was injured and led to a fire. There was also tragic news in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of President Wolodymyr Selenskyj: a Russian rocket attack killed one person and injured eleven more. In chuhuiv, eight people were injured in a separate attack. The Ukrainian air forces were able to intercept 66 out of 100 attacking drones, but some remained uncontrolled and damaged the civil infrastructure in the Sumy and Poltava regions.

Political tensions rise

The geopolitical tensions reach new heights! The Pentagon announced that an estimated 10,000 North Korean soldiers were sent to Russia to fight against Ukraine in the coming weeks. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed the posting and described it as a sign of Putin's growing despair. US President Joe Biden warned of the dangers of this support for Russia, while South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol promised the opportunity to faster North Korean troops on the front.

Selenskyj is currently in Iceland to discuss his “victory plan” with Nordic leaders to terminate the war. He reported that around 3,000 North Korean soldiers are already in Russia and that the number could soon increase four times. In the meantime, the British government has imposed sanctions against three Russian PR agencies that are accused of wanting to destabilize Ukraine. The situation remains tense and the world observes the developments with concern.
