Review for French rugby stars: A dark chapter ends!

Mendoza, Argentinien - A dark chapter for French rugby sport is finally over! An Argentine court has dropped the serious allegations against the two French international Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou. The two 21-year-olds were accused of sexually attacking a woman after a game in Mendoza, Argentina. But the truth came to light!

The lawyers of the players, German Hnatow and Analia Riveros, have stated that the allegations against their clients were not durable. "As we had expected, the French players were acquitted because the [sexual] act was mutually acceptable. There was no crime and no doubt about their innocence," said Hnatow after the hearing on Tuesday.

the allegations and the arrest

The incidents occurred after the first international game of the two talents against Argentina on July 6th. Just two days after the great victory, Auradou and Jegou were arrested after a woman had claimed that they had become violent in their hotel room. The players, on the other hand, claimed that sexual intercourse was mutually acceptable.

The two rugby stars were initially kept in custody for more than a week before they were put under house arrest. They had to stay in Argentina for almost a month, while the public prosecutor's office tested the evidence. Finally, the indictment came to the conclusion that the evidence against the players was too weak, and demanded the attitude of the procedure.

a new beginning for the players

Now that the indictment has been dropped, Auradou and Jegou can finally return to France and concentrate on their rugby careers. This decision not only brings relief for the players, but also for the entire French rugby community that has suffered from the shadow of these allegations.

The events in Mendoza shaked the world of rugby, but now the two athletes can start their sporting future with new enthusiasm. An important chapter has been completed and the hope of a positive turn is tangible!
