A fascinating journey through time to the ice age awaits visitors to the new exhibition “Ice Age” in the Museum Lower Austria in St. Pölten. This remarkable show pursues the life of the Paleolithic people and impressively shows how our ancestors lived, chased and survived in Europe about 40,000 to 11,700 years ago. Curated by Hannah Rohringer and Thomas Einwerer, the exhibition gives insights into different areas of life that range from everyday life to ritual practices. A sensational find are the 27,000-year-old twins from Krems-Wachtberg, which were buried with valuable additions. These remains are extremely rare and testify to the high appreciation that was shown to the deceased children, as reported.
However, the exhibition goes beyond simple exhibits. With life -size replicas of mammoths and interactive stations for families, the ice age lifestyle is conveyed in an exciting way. The highlights also include animal preparations for hunters and collectors who illustrate the hunting spectrum of past era. Particular attention is paid to the latest scientific knowledge that comes to life in a dialogue between a father and his son. In addition to the "Ice Age", the exhibition "Be human" by Jerson Jimenez opens on January 30th in the old locksmith in Möllersdorf. The artist born in the Dominican Republic brings visitors closer to the "colors of the soul" with its unique portraits. This show will be shown daily until February 8, before it remains accessible to the public every Sunday from March 9th.
