In the Austrian Taxenbach, Pinzgau, a dramatic rescue operation occurred on Saturday morning, which was able to save the life of an 18-year-old vacationer from Belgium. At around 7:00 a.m., the friend of the young woman discovered her motionless in her accommodation and immediately alerted the emergency call. The local police patrol arrived at the scene just a few minutes later and immediately initiated life -saving measures. No vital functions could be determined by the patient.
The policewoman and two of her colleagues immediately started with a heart-pressure massage and the ventilation of the 18-year-olds. A defibrillator from the patrol car was used to carry out the necessary electrically supported shocks. This mission lasted until the arrival of an emergency doctor and the paramedic, who then brought the patient to the Schwarzach hospital. Fortunately, the hospital later reported that the condition of the vacationer had stabilized.

In Salzburg, 60 police patrol cars are now equipped with defibrillators. This measure is part of a comprehensive plans to improve the response time in medical emergencies and increase the chances of survival of patients.
