Krismer demands information: Pesticides in Lower Austria uncontrolled!

The explosive problems in Lower Austria cannot be ignored! Helga Krismer, the green club chairwoman, urges comprehensive transparency and recording the pesticide use in the region. In an official request to the governor of Stephan Pernkopf, she expresses sharp criticism: "It cannot be that we do not know where and to what extent pesticides are used. This is a massive failure of the state government!" How APA-OT reports, there is a current accounting report report, which indicates the pressing deficits, in particular the lack of central recording of the pesticide applications. While other federal states already take measures, Lower Austria remains idle and misses important measures, while the EU introduces a digital recording and from 2028 a comprehensive reporting obligation for 2026.

Krismer emphasizes that only 0.6 % of the companies are checked at all - and often only through desk controls. It is alarming that every fourth of the controlled companies is noticeable. Special concern is preparing new insights into harmful residues of trifluoracetate (TFA) in drinking water. TFA can accumulate in floors and water as extremely stable and water -soluble and represents a serious danger to human health. “The Greens demand full transparency and information when using pesticides in our state. Lower Austria must act - environment and health are at stake!” So Krismer continues.

Political responsibility and upcoming elections

In the run -up to the state election on January 28, 2025, Krismer demands a fresh wind in Lower Austrian politics. In a combative appeal, she emphasizes that the Greens represent the only opposition party that is ready to bring the grievances of the established parties ÖVP, SPÖ and FPÖ to light. "The other parties are trapped in a morny proportional government that is entitled to each other," criticizes Krismer. Loud Green Biedermannsdorf is the responsibility of the Greens, as an experienced control body, in the fight against the continuing problems of the climate catastrophe and for securing the livelihood of central importance.
