Zoo-Schmiding celebrates: Rotschild giraffe gives birth to healthy baby!
In the Schmiding Zoo in Austria, there is reason to celebrate: a giraffe baby was born! The birth went smoothly and both mother and child are well. When a zookeeper came into the stable in the morning, she already found the little giraffe baby on her feet, full of energy and ready to trudge through the straw and drink breast milk. This gratifying message is of particular importance because the Rothschild giraffes are considered to be a strongly endangered species. As the Kleine Zeitung , the zoo is proud of its success in the breeding of these rare animals.

In the meantime, there is exciting developments in the Orangutans in the Metro Richmond Zoo in the Metro Richmond Zoo. The 14-year-old Zoe, who grew up as an orphan, fought to satisfy her newborn baby appropriately. In a great step to support, the zookeeper Whitlee Turner, freshly baked mother, brought into play. She brought her own baby with her and showed Zoe how breastfeeding works. Whitlee explained: "I only had my breastfeeding bra on and could show everything without shame." Giving practical instructions also helped Zoe, who built a strong bond after a difficult start to motherhood with her little baby. This touching story is documented in a video of the zoo, which shows how Zoe finally successfully breastfed her baby, only a few hours after Whitlee demonstrated her breastfeeding, like Hello parents reported.Details | |
