Fuel prices on the upswing: saving when refueling becomes a wire rope act!
Fuel prices on the upswing: saving when refueling becomes a wire rope act!
Vorarlberg, Österreich - rising fuel prices and increased costs at the petrol stations bring drivers in Austria into trouble. According to vorarlberg.orf.at it is expected that the price for one liter diesel will increase up to 1.90 euros in the coming months. This is an increase of up to 26 cents compared to 2024, which makes an additional 13 euros in the event of a 50-liter tank filling. Vorarlberg is one of the most expensive federal states in Austria, only Tirol has even higher fuel prices. Among other things, the increase is influenced by an increasing CO2 tax, which is reduced by diesel and gasoline per liter by about three cents.
Although prices had stabilized in the summer of last year, the current trends have shown a clear increase since November. Petrol station tenants do not benefit from these price increases because they are caused by the large mineral oil companies. Despite the high costs, consumption remains intact, as many drivers do not miss the absorption. The new expected vignette for 2025 over 100 euros, specifically 103.80 euros, increases the financial burden, while network tariffs for energy have also been increased.
