Fight for survival: Grafinger hosts raise the alarm in the tavern death!
In Grafing at Unterelkofen, the Wirts Gernot Mühlbacher and Rafael Schmieschek are facing enormous challenges. Since they run the castle restaurant, they have to struggle with a dramatic decline in visitors. "At the moment it is shit," says Mühlbacher in Bavarian, giving an insight into the tense Situation. Despite a varied program with live music and special festivals, the guests stay away. When the host couple reveals their costs, it quickly becomes clear: a schnitzel for 15.20 euros hardly leaves scope to cover the running costs such as lease and energy. This tragic situation is further tightened by rising prices and the re -raised VAT for catering, such as Merkur reported.
Renaissance of the castle restaurant
After a change of management, the castle restaurant took a new chance. The first positive reactions can be felt just one month after the reopening. According to Süddeutsche , the restaurant is already frequented, especially by craftsmen and company workers who have the inexpensive lunch Estimate 9.50 euros. In the evening the mulled wine at the fireplace attracts the guests, and traditional round tables will find a new home here.
While Mühlbacher and Schmieschek fight for the survival of their restaurant every day, a bright spot emerges. The Grafinger seem to be ready to revive their main pub, which could be a significant turn for both the hosts and the entire community. But the uncertainty remains greater than ever: closed doors are not uncommon in the region, where many hosts have given up due to financial difficulties. The Schlössl could be the next in the long list of closed companies if the situation does not soon improve.
