Formula E in Jeddah: Pit Stop premiere for explosive racing fun!

Jeddah, Saudi-Arabien - Formula E announced an exciting premiere on the third race weekend in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia: for the first time, the drivers have to enter into a compulsory boxing stop during the race to reload energy. With a charging power of 600 kW, it will be possible to generate an energy increase of 3.85 kWh in just 34 seconds. This means an increase in performance by 10 percent and brings a fascinating new dimension into play that increases both strategy and thrill, such as krone.at

The pit stop, officially referred to as "Pit Boost", is used during season 11 of Formula E, but only in selected races. The drivers have to adapt to the new rules, although only two mechanics are allowed to work on the car and not hold a team's vehicles at the same time. This novelty ensures additional pressure on the teams and drivers and could significantly influence the result of the race. The route in Jeddah, which is created on a shortened layout of the Formula 1 course with 19 curves and four harassment, is also impressive and promises exciting racing action under floodlights, reports Speedweek.com .

In the overall ranking, António Félix da Costa from Porsche goes into the race with 37 points as a leading one, followed by Mitch Evans and Oliver Rowland with 25 points each. Da Costa is optimistic and is looking forward to the new route: "The simulator has a nice flow, it could provide good racing." The race takes place on Friday and Saturday (starting time 6 p.m. CET) and is already the seventh event of Formula E in Saudi Arabia after Diriyah, which underlines the growing popularity and the importance of the country for electrical motorsport.
