Energy transition in the Lain seat valley: Households benefit from Ökostrom exchange!

In the Lain Seit Valley, a revolutionary step in the energy supply is imminent! From March 2025, residents can redesign their electricity requirements in the inside and companies of the Lain seat by feeding excess energy into the network from renewable sources. The energy community (EEG) Lainitztal, which has already registered over 350 counting points, enables members to obtain green electricity to significantly cheaper tariffs than with conventional providers. Cost reductions of over 5 cents per kWh for network fees and levies offer an unbeatable incentive, as reported.

This energy initiative not only promotes ecological sustainability, but also arouses great interest in the region. Since last year, the six communities have successfully exchanged photovoltaic current within their municipal buildings to use the locally generated energy where it is most urgently needed. Klaus Stebal, the chairman of the energy community, emphasizes: "It was always important to us that all the Lain seat Taler: inside an energy community can take part and benefit from the advantages!" According to the first estimates, the potential of locally produced electricity could be 2,000 megawatt hours, which illustrates the high commitment of the citizens: inside and traders.

participation and outlook

The response to this sustainable energy movement is overwhelming, explains Patrick Layr, small region spokesman. Interested citizens are invited to become part of this innovative community. From July 1, 2025, new members will be recorded again, and interest can be stated online until the end of April. There are further details on the website of the [climate protection and energy model region Lainitztal].
