Baumit relies in the sustainable future: 90% less CO2 with a new fuel!

Wopfing, Österreich - Baumit Austria has taken a consistent step into a sustainable future. From 2025, the entire fleet, including trucks and cars, will be changed to environmentally friendly hydro -rea a vegetable oils (HVO). This innovative fuel, which is won 100 percent from waste and vegetable raw materials, enables an impressive reduction in CO2 emissions by up to 90 percent and fine dust particles by over 30 percent compared to conventional diesel. Gerhard Philipp, responsible for environmental and process engineering at Baumit, emphasizes the importance of this measure: "The compensation with HVO corresponds to an annual CO2 savings of around 7,000 tons", as on ots is reported.

In addition, the company is presenting new "structural landmarks" at the WOFFING location, which offer modern electric loading points for the company fleet. These were manufactured by the 3D concrete pressure of the Baumit Bauminator. With only 160 kg per charging station, not only material is saved, but also avoided about 60 kg CO2 per station. Furthermore, the energy for the e-charging stations is provided by the PV system on the roof of the wet products, which generates approximately 350 MWh of electricity annually and thus saves around 120 tons of CO2. These developments are part of Baumit's continuous commitment to achieve ecological goals.
