Construction work in Steglitz-Zehlendorf: Hindenburgdamm & Uferweg affected!

On January 13, 2025, extensive construction work of Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH (Bew) begins at the Hindenburgdamm network connection in Steglitz-Zehlendorf. This work includes construction phases 5 and 6.1 and are intended to improve traffic routing on this important traffic artery.

The traffic routing in Hindenburgdamm is expanded by a lane per direction to the intersection of Bäkestrasse. The work is designed for a period of one year, so that a completion can be expected by the end of October 2025.

Construction work on the Uferweg

At the same time with the work on the Hindenburgdamm, construction work on the riparian path along the Teltow Canal, between Engadiner Weg and Königsberger Straße. These measures affect both Bewer and the Berlin electricity network, which means that the affected section of the bank path is blocked for the public. Deadover routes are signposted for pedestrians and cyclists to facilitate the bypass of the construction site.

The district office Steglitz-Zehlendorf has already informed about the upcoming construction work and explains that the work near the existing measure of Berlin water operations in the Königsberger Straße/Hindenburgdamm crossing will take place.
