A scandalous incident shaked the political landscape in Gießen! The SPD member of the Bundestag Felix Döring was insulted as a concentration camp doctor Josef Mengele during an AfD event in Rabenau. A 70-year-old man from Laubach has now received a fine. The incident occurred in August 2023 when Döring took part in a demonstration against the AfD and a vehicle drove by with his portrait. The man called loudly: "The Dr. Mengele is there too!" And referred to Döring, which led to a storm of indignation.

Judgment against the insult

The Gießen district court condemned the man for insulting and incitement. He now has to pay 120 daily rates of 30 euros each - a sum that may appear on the hot stone like a drop for many, but for Döring it is an important sign in the fight against agitation and defamation. The convict has not been convicted and has not yet contested the judgment. The organizers of the AfD event emphasized that the man was not a member of her party.
