Trick fraud in Gütersloh: Women cheat over 100,000 euros with a curse scam!

A scandalous fraud case has occurred in Gütersloh that is reminiscent of a bad film! Two Russian-speaking women tricked a 66-year-old woman in the city center by pretending to be faith healers. They convinced the unsuspecting woman that she was affected by a curse, which they could banish with a special ritual for a fee. At the end of October, the fraudsters stole a low six-figure sum of cash as well as gold jewelry!

Police spokesman Mark Kohnert describes this incident as unique in the Gütersloh district. “The scam hasn’t happened here before,” he explains. However, similar cases of fraud were also reported in Osnabrück and Dortmund. The police have now published phantom photos of the two women and are urgently looking for witnesses. The crime scene was the busy Königstrasse, where the perpetrators approached the 66-year-old on the morning of October 30th.

The perfidious scam of the fraudsters

The women persuaded the victim that she was under a curse and convinced her to hand over her savings for “cleaning.” The handover took place at the central Berliner Platz, where the 66-year-old handed over more than 100,000 euros and jewelry to the fraudsters. It was only when the women had disappeared that the Gütersloh resident noticed the fraud and immediately filed a report. The police are now investigating commercial gang fraud.

The perpetrators are known to be well trained and sophisticated. One of them is described as being around 45 years old, 1.50 meters tall and with blonde hair, while the other is said to be around 65 years old and 1.65 meters tall.
